Board Of Directors

 Health for Humanity’s directors are elected by the membership for a 2 year term. We are grateful for the time and effort they expend toward the success of the organization.

Cheryl Davies, MEd, RN - Board President

Cheryl is currently the Vice-President, Ambulatory Programs at BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre, the largest maternity hospital in Canada and the only facility in BC devoted primarily to the health of women, newborns and their families.  She has over 20 years experience in women’s health as a nurse, educator and executive leader, in both community and hospital settings.  As a passionate advocate for women’s health agendas and social justice, she is an active volunteer.  She joined Health for Humanity in 2005, and has supported surgical missions in nursing, logistics and team leadership capacities.        

Katie Goldie, MSc, PhD(c), RN - Board Secretary

Katie is a registered nurse who has a clinical background in acute care. She is currently working towards a doctorate in Nursing at the University of British Columbia. She is primarily interested in cardiovascular health promotion and risk prediction. The 2011 mission to Antigua will be her first trip with H4H.

Dennis Hartman, MD, FRCSC

Cindy Masaro - MSN, PhD(c), RN

Cindy is a nurse with medical, surgical, OR, public health, and research experience. She has completed course work in international health. Currently she is working on her PhD at UBC with a focus on both epidemiology and nursing. She was a founding board member and is now concentrating on advancing H4H public health program initiatives.

Mike Morton, MD, FRCP(C)

Mike was founding president of H4H and continues as a board member. He is an anesthesiologist with experience in hospital administration and a keen interest in international health.  In addition to serving as the Medical Lead for most of the H4H surgical missions, he has provided anesthesiology services for H4H missions in both Guatemala and the Philippines. 

Al Ronalds - Board Treasurer

Al Ronalds has worked for Scotiabank since 1962 with experience in all aspects of banking in more than a dozen countries throughout North and Central America and the Caribbean. This includes more than 30 years analyzing corporate financial statements and development of related computer software.  Al has served in the role of H4H Board Treasurer since 2005. He has also participated in several surgical missions to Guatemala in an administrative support role, managing the procurement of and payment for supplies, transportation, meals and accommodation.
