Our Partners

Health for Humanity works in partnership with other non-governmental organizations in Guatemala and in Canada to maximize our effectiveness in providing the best possible health care to the people of Guatemala who have the least access to it.

The following NGOs help us to achieve our goals:

  • Partner for Surgery seeks out patients, usually from the indigenous Mayan population living in outlying regions, who have treatable surgical conditions but no access to health care.
  • Faith in Practice has been instrumental in setting up the operating room at he Obras Sociales del Hermano Pedro, and the Casa de Fe - a facility in Antigua that provides accommodation for patients and their families, before and after their surgery.
  • Obras Sociales del Hermano Pedro Hospital Our base in Antigua, Guatemala is run by the Franciscan Order and offers many other programs in addition to surgery.
  • Vamos Adalante provides health services and education for the many villages on the slopes of Vulcan Fuego near Antigua.
  • Proyecto Payaso provides human rights and sexual health education through arts based communication methods.
  • The Tula Foundation based on Quadra Island, this privately funded foundation has been working in Guatemala for the past 6 years supporting development at the regional nursing school in Coban with the specific aim of increasing the number of rural nurses. Tula is now supporting our surgical mission to Guatemala and we look forward to working in partnership with them and Tula Salud their Guatemala NGO on other projects in rural Guatemala.

We also want to acknowledge the following BC Companies and organizations that have gone out of their way to assist Health for Humanity administration
